The Boys Playing Wii

The Grady Boys Read on

DSC08527.JPGI was looking through my photo album looking for something to post and came across a few pictures of Josh and Nate playing the Wii. I wrote about the the Wii and Mario in an earlier post. There’s nothing much to write about these photos except that it is cool to see the boys playing well together.

Timberrrrrrrrrr

General Read on

Amy and I have wanted our pine trees gone since the day we moved in almost four years ago. A nice tax return a few years gave us an opportunity to get rid of them. Then we found out that our friends Sean and Steph were to be married in France, right outside of Paris, and we were asked to attend. Paris… Trees… Paris… Trees… Yeah, we went to France and had a ball.

Well, this year we once again got some money back on our taxes and didn’t have any friends getting married in foreign countries, so we pulled the “tree cutting” trigger. We had eleven trees removed. I took the day off from work to watch the excitement. I almost wished I hadn’t witnessed the procedure. The tree guys brought in a crane to remove most of the trees and watching a tree being lifted over the top of your house is a bit nerve racking. I had some great video of the event, or so I thought. My camera decided to pick that day to conk out.

Click on the pictures below to enlarge.

Seven trees removed from the back yard.

Fog and Buzzards

General Read on

DSC08537.JPGThis morning we had some serious fog. I was drinking a cup of Amy’s 8 Scoop coffee looking out the back window and saw my back yard as foggy as I’ve ever seen it. It screamed for a picture to be taken. more fog pics

DSC08512.JPGWhen I dumped the pictures, I noticed similar ominous looking pictures in the bunch. These pictures were ones that I took a week or so ago of the buzzards that have within the last month making random appearances in our neighborhood. The first time we saw them they landed in the trees in our backyard. Big deal you might say, but I haven’t mentioned yet how many there were of them. There were at least a hundred of them! Now, I know I’m prone to exaggerate, but in this case I have many witnesses: my wife and my neighbors. So just ask them if you don’t believe me. I’ve yet to get a shot when they can be contained in one area, but some of the shots show you a bunch of them. more buzzard pics

Josh the Photographer

Josh's Journal Read on

P2090185.JPGNana and PawPaw gave Josh a digital camera for Christmas. Even though it was a Fisher Price camera it’s awesome. It takes a card and everything. Lately he’s been taking pictures and then transferring the card to the Wii where he uses the Doodle Pad program that comes with it to make funny pictures out of the pictures he’s taken. I really can’t believe how good the pictures a Fisher Price camera for kids come out. They are of insane good quality.

The other day at Maeli’s first birthday party I decided to give Josh a go at our regular digital camera. He did a good job. This gallery is the pictures he took.

We’re Playing Basketball

Josh's Journal Read on

Josh BasketballOur town has some great programs for kids. We recently signed Josh up for Sports Intro (which covers the basics on a lot of different sports, Intro to Basketball, and Intro to Flag Football. Josh started his Basketball classes a couple of weeks ago. It is So funny watching four year olds learning how to play basketball. They are all over the place. Josh is usually on the floor as he loves to slide to catch a ball or catch a ball and fall to the floor. They break the kids into three different groups; dribbling, passing and shooting. Of course the kids love to shoot, but they have a good time regardless of what station they are at.

TV Junkie Report - Psych

Alan's Thoughts Read on

psych.pngI am a television junkie. I always have been. Since I’ve read more books than a small town’s entire population combined, I don’t feel too bad about this. It drives Amy crazy (even though she is one as well and doesn’t like to admit it). I must admit that it gets out of hand at times. Sometimes there are three different televisions going at one time in our house.

Wii Are Having Fun

Alan's Thoughts Read on

super_mario_galaxy.jpgMom gave me a Wii for Christmas. Ain’t she so sweet. I really was shocked. I had asked for one, but with the limited supply of the buggers I didn’t think it was going to be something that would come to be. After the initial 5 minutes of shocked-ness, I began to feel a bit guilty. There were loads of kids that weren’t getting a Wii this Christmas and here I got one… an old man that would let it gather dust.

Video games haven’t been a part of my life since the kids were born. I have an Xbox, a PS2 and I did have a PSP. I sold the PSP to the neighbor’s kid because the only thing I used it for was to surf the net and the iPhone made that obsolete. My PS2 and Xbox have layers of dust on them.
